Week 9 Takeaways

Andre Zammit, VP of Tipico Sportsbook: What a bounce back from Joe Mixon. After a 27-yard no-show last week against the Browns, the Joe Mixon Show is back with a monster game. He put up with 153 rushing yards and 58 receiving yards, along with four rushing and one receiving touchdown! The Bears lost, but at least they have something to look forward to in Justin Fields. What a game he had as he put up three passing TDs, no interceptions, and 178 rushing yards (the most by an NFL quarterback in a regular-season game). Kyler Murray praised Justin’s performance after the game calling him “a Baller”. Week after week, the Lions have been taking L’s and blowing fourth-quarter leads. Finally, they manage to hold on and beat the packers in one of the lowest-scoring games of the season.

Sunny Gupta, Sportsbook Manager: Minnesota may be cold, but the Vikings stay red-hot with yet another comeback win. Is it time to take them seriously? Cousins added extra salt in the wound to his former team when he was shown dancing on the return flight shirtless with some bling on. J-E-T-S with another huge home win, this time against their division rival Buffalo Bills. The Jets are making a serious push for the playoffs. Run Justin Run! Justin fields ran for the most yards of any QB since Colin Kaepernick’s playoff game 10 years ago. Geno Smith has the Seahawks buzzing with another win against a division rival. Seattle sits comfortably in first place in the NFC West.

Vincent Pepe, Quantitative Trading Analyst: The best way to beat the Bills? Keep their offense off the field. The Jets shock everyone and stake their claim for being the best New York team. The Jaguars have been pretty underwhelming this season, but they do have a lock that’s basically free money. Travis Etienne Anytime TD has been a lock the last three weeks. The Jags come out on top even after having no answer for Davante Adams and are in the race for second in a weak AFC south. Justin Fields put up running back numbers as he had more rushing yards than passing yards against a Dolphins team that seems to be swimming through the league. Green Bay continues to struggle and couldn’t even reach double-digit points against a Lions team that has the worst defense in the NFL!

Ryan Taylor, Sportsbook Analyst: “You Like That?” Kirk Cousins and the Vikings keep winning as they improve to 7-1 on the year and have seemingly locked up the NFC North as the Packers have squandered yet another game. The Packers have lost five games in a row and only put up nine points against the Lions. Pretty embarrassing considering the Lion's Swiss cheese defense has given up the most points in the NFL this season. Rodger’s playoff hopes are dwindling. Fellow veteran QB Tom Brady had a throwback game as he drove his team to victory against the defending Super Bowl champs. Tampa hasn’t been great, but this win could be just what they needed to get back on track.

Brian Gilmartin, Sportsbook Analyst: Seattle is no longer on fraud watch. The debate about the success of the Seahawks has been put to rest after another double-digit win as underdogs. They are a well-rounded team with a coach that continues to prove his worth. Are they Super Bowl contenders? Probably not, but they have the ingredients to make some noise this postseason. Don’t forget about Patrick. The Chiefs continue to win, and Patrick Mahomes is starting to pop off following this week's OT win against the Titans. Is it time for Green Bay to pack it up? The Packers are playing so badly that Lil Wayne has disavowed the team himself. Rodgers threw multiple back-breaking interceptions in the red zone against a bad Lions defense. The only thing worse than the Packers is their division, as every team besides Minnesota is brutal. I guess there’s a reason the Midwest is called the MID-west.

Week 10 Games to Watch

Andre Zammit: Vikings @ Bills – The 7-1 Vikings travel to the “best team in the league” after the Bills had a shocking defeat to their division rivals, the Jets. This is a must-win for Josh and the Mafia.

Sunny Gupta: Vikings @ Bills – Two teams hotter than any wing on Chippewa street. These are the two best teams in the league, expect the Bills to come flying out of the gate after being upset by the Jets last week

Vincent Pepe: Cleveland @ Miami: A hot vs cold matchup. Cleveland put on a clinic against a streaky Bengals while they let up 32 points to the Bears last week. Can the Browns stay hot? Can the Dolphin's defense get it together?

Ryan Taylor:  Chargers @ 49ers - A California clash! This game has big implications for the playoffs. Each team must win to stay in the divisional race and separate from the pack for the postseason push.

Brian Gilmartin: Vikings @ Commanders: Kirk Cousins returns to Landover, Maryland to take on a surging Commanders team that looks to try to keep pace in the NFC wild-card race and an extremely competitive NFC East. Meanwhile, the Vikings look to sustain their early season success in their press for the NFC’s top record.
