Lorenzo’s Lock is a weekly series with our partner Gannett Media and part of Bet For the Win. It includes 2 picks for the upcoming NFL weekend.
MAHOMES MOVES ON
Lorenzo is kicking things of with the AFC title game between the Bengals and the Chiefs. The biggest line changing factor going into this game is dependent on Patrick Mahomes and his right ankle. Mahomes picked up a bit of an ankle injury but claims he’s good to play. A QB with reduced mobility will slow down Kansas City’s offense, which already has to face a tough Bengals defensive line. The Bengals are playing with confidence and have been rolling through teams lately, and they have a matched up very well against the Chiefs in the past. Joe Burrow is 3-0 against the Bengals with each victory coming by three points. Lorenzo thinks this one could go either way but likes the Chiefs at home.

THE BROCK PURDY SHOW
Lorenzo’s next lock comes from the NFC title game between the Eagles and the 49ers where we'll see MVP candidate Jalen Hurts take on rookie sensation Brock Purdy. Lorenzo loves this matchup as the leagues best defense faces off against one of the best offenses. Kyle Shanahan loves to attack the middle of the field, a weak spot for the Eagles defense. The Eagles need to shut down Brock Purdy, otherwise he’ll find George Kittle and Christian McCaffery on dangerous crossing routes. San Francisco’s elite defense will put lots of pressure on Jalen Hurts, who has looked a bit hesitant lately. If the 49ers can contain Hurts and minimize his descion making time, the Eagles offense will be in trouble. The 49ers are the hottest team in football right now, so Lorenzo wants to keep riding with them.
Lorenzo is locking in San Francisco +2.5
