January 2, 2024

In our ‘Big Win’ series, we highlight one of the most notable recent wins on Tipico Sportsbook.

A Tipico bettor from Colorado rang in 2024 by going across three sports to win a five-leg parlay for a payout of $14,168.37 on New Year’s Day.

This bettor’s parlay was at 1812-to-1 odds on a $740.75 bet with legs on college football bowl games, Premier League soccer, and the NHL. Three of the legs were live, and the other two were pregame selections.

Here is the timeline of how our bettor’s lucky day went:

Noon ET, LSU vs Wisconsin, ReliaQuest Bowl

Our bettor placed a live bet on LSU to beat Wisconsin with moneyline odds of -110, and the Tigers eked out a 35-31 win on Garrett Nussmeier’s 4-yard touchdown pass to Brian Thomas Jr with 3:08 left in the game.

1 p.m. ET, Iowa vs Tennessee, Citrus Bowl

The bettor selected Tennessee to cover a live spread at -17.5 points at +100, and the Volunteers complied by walloping Iowa 35-0 in the Citrus Bowl.

3 p.m. ET, Liverpool vs Newcastle

Our bettor went with Liverpool on a live moneyline bet (-270) to defeat Newcastle, and the Reds did 4-2. Mohamed Salah scored twice — at 49 and 86 minutes — and Cody Gakpo and Curtis Jones also found the back of the net.

3 p.m. ET, Vegas Golden Knights at Seattle Kraken, NHL Winter Classic

Based on the timing of the live/pregame legs, our bettor placed the parlay bet early in the Liverpool game, and before the Winter Classic dropped the puck. Our bettor went with Seattle to beat Vegas in a pregame bet with moneyline odds of +110, and the Kraken won 3-0 at T-Mobile Park. Eeli Tolvanen had a goal and an assist for the Kraken while Will Borgen and Yanni Gourde added a goal apiece.

5 p.m. ET, Michigan vs Alabama, Rose Bowl

In the first College Football Playoff semifinal, the Wolverines cemented our bettor’s five-leg parlay, making good on the pregame moneyline pick of Jim Harbaugh and Michigan at -135. Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to Roman Wilson with 1:34 left to send the game into overtime. Wolverines RB Blake Corum scored on a 17-yard run in OT, and the Michigan defense stopped Alabama on a fourth-and-goal, holding on for the 27-20 win — and sealing a big payday for this Colorado bettor.
